Below you will find answers to frequently asked questions:
Q- What does 5.1 – 7.1 mean?
A- Surround sound uses a range of techniques for enriching the sound reproduction quality of an audio source with audio channels reproduced via additional, discrete speakers. The three-dimensional (3D) sphere of human hearing can be virtually achieved with audio channels above and below the listener. To that end, the multi-channel surround sound application encircles the audience (left-surround, right-surround, back-surround), as opposed to "screen channels" (center, [front] left, and [front] right), i.e. ca. 360° horizontal plane, 2D).
Q- What does flat panel mean?
A- Flat panel displays uses a growing number of technologies enabling video displays that are lighter and much thinner than traditional television and video displays that use cathode ray tubes, and are usually less than 4 inches thick.
Q- What is a Plasma TV?
A- A plasma display panel (PDP) is a type of flat panel display. Many tiny cells between two panels of glass hold a mixture of gases. The gas in the cells is electrically turned into plasma (an ionized gas, the fourth state of matter) which then excites phosphors to emit light.
Q- What is LCD TV?
A- A liquid crystal display (LCD) is a thin, flat panel used for electronically displaying information such as text, images, and moving pictures. It is an electronically-modulated optical device made up of any number of pixels filled with liquid crystals and arrayed in front of a light source (backlight) or reflector to produce images in color or monochrome. Among its major features are its lightweight construction, its portability, and its ability to be produced in much larger screen sizes.
Q- What is DLP?
A- Digital Light Processing (DLP) In DLP projectors, the image is created by microscopically small mirrors laid out in a matrix on a semiconductor chip, known as a Digital Micro-mirror Device (DMD). Each mirror represents one or more pixels in the projected image. These mirrors can be repositioned rapidly to reflect light either through the lens or on to a heat sink Rapidly toggling the mirror between these two orientations (essentially on and off) produces grayscales, controlled by the ratio of on time to off time.
Q- What is LED?
A- light-emitting diode (LED) A cluster of red, green, and blue diodes are mounted on a chipset together to form a full-color pixel, usually square in shape, which is then mounted on the driver PC board. These pixels are spaced evenly apart and are measured from center to center for absolute pixel resolution. The individual diodes are smaller than a pinhead and are set very close together. The difference is that the maximum viewing distance is reduced by 25% from the discrete diode screen with the same resolution.
Q- What does flat screen mean?
A- Flat screen indicates that the surface of the screen is flat as opposed to convex (rounded out) as were the conventional cathode ray tubes TV.
Q- How do you know which surround sound system is right for you?
A-The right sound system for your home is the one that provides optimum environment surround sound without over paying. Usually 80 watts per channel is enough to satisfy a 12’x12’ (144 sq/ft. ) size room.
Q- Why do I need an evaluation?
A- An evaluation is highly recommended. It is important for the customer to have all the hardware necessary to complete the installation. It is also important to evaluate the working area to make sure it is ready for the installation and make suggestions that might optimize the home theater set up.
